1. ISA World Junior Championship
The first event to be held in Surf City El Salvador is the ISA World Junior Championship from May 27 to June 5, 2022.
This competition, organized annually by the International Surfing Association, is an event of great importance within the international surfing scene where the best emerging surfing talent in the world will participate.
This year will mark the 18th edition of this competition that represents a great opportunity for all young surfers to make themselves known and boost their professional career, as it serves as a path to Olympic and world-class surfing.
From Surf City we are delighted to welcome all the new surfing talents and we are eager for them to come and discover the beaches and all the unique places of our country. For us, hosting this event reflects the country’s interest and commitment to support and promote surfing at all levels.
2. WSL Championship
Secondly, this year in Surf City El Salvador we will have the great pleasure of hosting for the first time the World Surf League Championship from June 12 to 20, 2022.
This year, the organization of the World Surf League has trusted our country to be one of the venues of this international tournament of great importance in which the best surfers in the world participate.
The world tour is divided between two seasons and will start with 36 men and 18 women, which will then be reduced to the 22 men and 10 women best classified. It is in the second half of the championship, when we will welcome the surfers to Surf City.
Among all our beaches, Punta Roca beach in La Libertad has been chosen as one of the base venues where the best participants will be concentrated for the finals of this great worldwide competition.
From Surf City we could not be happier and more grateful to the WSL for giving us this great opportunity to receive the best surfers in the world in our country. For us, hosting this event is a pride and represents a fantastic opportunity to make our country known to the whole world and show all the characteristics of the place to surf and make it the #HomeOfTheRightSurf.
3. ALAS Pro Tour
Finally, in third place, the other event that we will celebrate this year in Surf City El Salvador is the ALAS Pro Tour 2022 from November 24 to 27, 2022.
This is an important continental competition from South America organized by the Latin American Association of Professional Surfers. This will bring together surfers from different locations of the American continent with the aim to highlight, compete and get a good position in the ranking in its four categories Open Men, Open Ladies, Longboard and Junior.
Once again, Surf City is very happy to host this event and welcome surfers of different nationalities and categories to enjoy competing in our waves and discover all that our country has to offer.

In Surf City we have worked hard so that El Salvador and its beaches meet the requirements and offer the best conditions to become the ideal setting for competitions and surf tournaments at national and international level. We are proud to share with amateur and professional surfers from all over the world our best waves, beaches, areas, food, weather and traditions of the country.
The confidence of all the visitors, the involvement of the participants and the support of the different organizations bring great pride and national prestige to El Salvador and challenge us to keep growing and improving more and more.
